 Feminist School Lina Ben Mhenni

June – July 2025 – Tunisia

The Feminist School Lina Ben Mhenni is launching its online platform to provide accessible and politically grounded content on feminist thought, history, and critical theory for activists, students, artists, and educators across the MENA region. The content will include structured courses, thematic articles, recorded lectures, podcasts, and audiovisual material. Each course will be created by a selected expert based on the guidelines detailed below.

The Lina Ben Mhenni Feminist School is a transformative educational project launched in 2021, inspired by the life, values, and revolutionary spirit of Lina Ben Mhenni—Tunisian feminist, human rights defender, and symbol of freedom. The school is a living extension of Lina’s struggle and human legacy. It embodies her vision of a society rooted in justice, dignity, and equal rights for all.

More than just a program, the school is a political and pedagogical space that welcomes women and marginalized people to express themselves, share their experiences, and reclaim their narratives. It provides a safe, feminist, and collaborative environment where knowledge is co-constructed, critical thinking is cultivated, and collective action is nourished.

Through interactive workshops, critical seminars, and cultural activities, the Lina Ben Mhenni Feminist School becomes a platform for empowerment—one that reclaims art, storytelling, and collective work as tools of resistance against all forms of domination. In every event and gathering, Lina’s values echo: freedom of expression, respect for diversity, and the defense of human dignity. Her name continues to be a symbol of hope, rebellion, and radical commitment to social justice.

The school draws its methodological inspiration from radical popular education traditions, critical pedagogy (Paulo Freire, bell hooks), and feminist praxis. It is not a conventional academic setting, nor a space for mere awareness-raising. It is a laboratory of critical knowledge and a field of collective experimentation for social transformation.
